The Women of St. Andrew's [WSA] is an organization for all the women in the parish. The organization serves the parish and community in a variety of ways. The WSA meets the second Saturday of each month in the Parish Hall with breakfast starting at 8:30 a.m. Each meeting includes breakfast, fellowship and a business meeting. We would love to have all the women of St. Andrew's join us at any meeting!
We're very proud of the outreach programs endorsed by the WSA. A sampling of the activities in progress will be shown on this page from time to time but include Elder-Care (in our adopting a local assisted living home). As a result of our adopting this living center over the last couple of years, in 2014 we were asked to provide bible study for the residents, which we have done. The bible study is presented for them on premises every Wednesday afternoon.
In 2014 the Women of St. Andrew's once again organized the parish-wide project called Operation Christmas Child where you pack shoeboxes full of gifts for needy children and they ship them internationally. More recently, our shoeboxes were tracked to young boys and girls in Columbia for Christmas 2013 and Mexico in 2012. Our priest, Father Powell, saw the love and power in this project for those who give and for those who receive and consequently asked the Women of St. Andrew's to open this project up to the entire parish for involvement in 2014, which we just finished doing. The parishioners gave an over-whelming response of 92 Christmas Shoeboxes for the children.
